Building Brighter Futures is what The Sisson-Blackwell Scholarship for Success aims to do! The Peralta Colleges Foundation is excited to announce “The Sisson-Blackwell Scholarship for Success,” established in May 2024 by long-time Laney College instructor and counselor, Kimm Sisson Blackwell. This scholarship will annually award $500 to three (3) deserving students of Peralta Colleges. The criteria is designed to support students who are studying pre-nursing, who are formerly or currently incarcerated, and students who are transferring to an HBCU.
Why this scholarship is important to me: “I’ve been so fortunate to play a role in helping students on their personal and academic journeys, but this
scholarship allows me to contribute in a very practical way that I know makes a meaningful difference. I hope to grow the dollar amount each year but for now, this is a dream come true! Please join me in helping students however you can, every dollar counts!”
