2025 Norma Hongisto Fine Art Scholarship Winners
Laney held their First Annual Juried Student (Art) Show and two (2) students were awarded the Norma Hongisto Fine Art Scholarship on May 8th.

George Nakamura was a lifelong Bay Area resident, born in 1936 and passed away June 2019. He taught photography at Laney College from 1973-1993.
It’s our honor to establish the George Nakamura Memorial scholarship fund for future Laney College photography students in his name.
In loving memory from his six nephews and nieces: Mark, Eric, Sean, Lisa, David, and Judy.
