On Friday, April 29, 2022, Berkeley City College President Angélica Garcia hosted a Fireside Chat as part of the Peralta Colleges Foundation Distinguished Leaders Community Conversations series. The event was titled ‘BCC’s Vision for Equitable Education for All’, focusing on BCC’s mission to provide quality education for all who come through our doors, regardless of ethnicity, financial restraints, or life circumstances; and examining BCC’s challenges and goals for achieving this mission. Berkeley City College thanks the Peralta Colleges Foundation Executive Director LaNiece Jones for organizing, and PCF board member, Tasion Kwamilele for moderating the event.
Laney College mathematics instructor Tracy Camp established the Ernestine Camp Scholarship in honor of her mother, Ernestine Camp, a beloved mathematics instructor who taught at Laney College for over 30 years.
Rene, a dedicated employee for over 30 years, held various positions across all four campuses, including the District office, and concluded his career as the Admissions and Records Supervisor at Laney College.

In partnership with the Peralta Colleges Foundation, this past May, Counselor Blackwell launched “The Sisson-Blackwell Scholarship for Success.
The Peralta Colleges Foundation is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit: ID# 23-7091547.
5% of all support for the Peralta Colleges through the PCF is allocated to unrestricted funds to be used to further the Foundation’s mission.
