For over 50 years, the Peralta Colleges Foundation, in collaboration with the Peralta Community College District—Laney College, Merritt College, College of Alameda, and Berkeley City College—has been dedicated to breaking down financial barriers that stand in the way of student success. Our mission is clear: to provide under-resourced students with the support they need to thrive, and our year-end appeal is a crucial part of this effort.
Did you know that 71% of Peralta College District students are the first in their families to attend college? Even more striking, nearly half of our students report an annual income of less than $20,000. These students face extraordinary challenges, and they need our help now more than ever.
Last year, thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we raised $315,000 for scholarships. But we know we can do more. That’s why we launched the Building Brighter Futures Giving Campaign — an annual effort to expand our impact. Currently, 20% of our resources come from individual donors, and this year, we’re striving to increase that by 25%. Your partnership can make a difference.
