2025 Norma Hongisto Fine Art Scholarship Winners
Laney held their First Annual Juried Student (Art) Show and two (2) students were awarded the Norma Hongisto Fine Art Scholarship on May 8th.
The Book Club of California believes the best way to champion book and to celebrate it as a cultural treasure is to share all that they do. As they expand the bibliophilic community by preserving and promoting the history of the book and the book arts, they want to bring new and diverse voices into the conversations we have about design, printing, collecting, history, and more. Whether aspiring book artists, scholars, writers, or collectors, students will bring fresh ideas and new perspectives … things they need to remain a vital voice in the book community.
Since 1912, book collectors, printers, binders, designers, authors, historians, librarians, scholars, readers, students, and bibliophiles of all stripes have been coming to the Book Club of California for an engagingly social and intellectually stimulating experience. Book Club members demonstrate their love for fine books and that they value the role that the Book Club plays in the cultural sector of our society: supporting book making, printing, design, illustration, and scholarship.
With the help of Book Club of California members and donors we are cultivating the next generation of book lovers by providing FREE Book Club membership to students. Students will need to complete this form to be considered for a FREE Book Club of California membership. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and students are awarded memberships year-round. Our objective is to have no one turned away from membership for their inability to pay or participate.
