On Friday, April 29, 2022, Berkeley City College President Angélica Garcia hosted a Fireside Chat as part of the Peralta Colleges Foundation Distinguished Leaders Community Conversations series.

Our very own LaNiece Jones was featured on KTVU for her work as a trailblazing entrepreneur, higher education and equity advocate. We are grateful to call her the captain of our ship. Her leadership has been critical in our efforts to raise scholarships to support cutting-edge work by our students.
Assemblymember Bonta said “LaNiece…brings 15+ years of business work and passion for community empowerment to raise money for scholarships.
The best minds are in these underrepresented communities, and we have to tap in. Identifying those communities, supporting those communities, and then reaching out to those communities is critical to the success of Google.
LaNiece was selected among an esteemed group of Black Bay Area leaders and entrepreneurs for their commitment to equity and our communities. ICYMI LaNiece along with fellows “Icons” were featured on Comcast’s float at the Oakland Black Joy Parade on Sunday, February 27.
